Dr. Pius Mutisya, OGW 

Chairman, Board of Governors 

Dr. Pius Mutisya, OGW, holds a PhD (Epidemiology), M.Ed (Leadership & Policy), M.Sc (Infectious Diseases), B.Ed (Science), and is currently undertaking a Bachelor of Medicine/ Surgery (MB. ChB) since 2023 at Mt. Kenya University. Dr. Mutisya has thirty-four (34) years of progressive experience in Education Administration, with knowledge of Science Education, Education administration, scientific research, governance and operations of boards of directors, management and policy. He is an independent Board member and Chairman of the Board. 

In addition to his current position as Chairman, Dr. Pius Mutisya, OGW, has served in various senior leadership/management positions, including serving as Secretary of the Board of Governors of senior Kenyan educational institutions; as a Board member at KNEC Council, NACADA, Sports Kenya, Athletics Kenya, and the National Youth Council. He has been the Director, Education Standards Council; Director, Quality Assurance and Standards, MOE; and Director, Field Coordination and Services, MOE, where he was in charge of the Regional Directors of Education and County Directors of Education. Dr. Mutisya was awarded the Order of Grand Warrior of Kenya (OGW) in 2018.
