CEMASTEA is a public institution under the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MOEST). Its mandate is to build the capacity of mathematics and science teachers for effective classroom practices not only in Kenya but also in countries in Sub-Saharan Africa. This is achieved through Strengthening of Mathematics and Science Education (SMASE) In-service Education and Training (INSET) programmes.
CEMASTEA has organized a National Conference on Mathematics, Science and Technology Education. The conference will be hosted at CEMASTEA from 15th to 17th September 2015. The purpose of the conference is to bring together academicians, education practitioners and researchers to share their experiences and ideas on ways of promoting innovative pedagogy through teacher capacity building.

The sub-themes
Call for abstracts
Abstracts for papers or posters that will be presented are invited from individuals or groups of people within Kenya. Each individual may have his or her name on no more than two abstracts. The abstracts addressing the theme and focusing on any of the sub-themes should not exceed 300 words and must include the author's name, mobile number, email address, institutional affiliation.
The deadline for submission of abstracts is 30th April 2015. Full papers must be submitted by 31 July, 2015 for presenters to be included in the conference program. Guidelines for papers and posters will be sent with the acceptance notification.
Participation in the conference is open to Kenyans whether or not they are presenting papers or posters. However, international participants are welcome as observers only.
