Secondary Programme is one of the programme areas at CEMASTEA. The programme serves CEMASTEA to achieve its purpose in strengthening mathematics and science education in the country by coordinating the development of training INSET content for teachers in secondary education in Kenya and other African countries. Currently the programme activities are coordinated by a team of 9 National Trainers led by a Programme Coordinator.

To transform teaching by continuously coordinating the development of  competences for effective curriculum delivery and improved quality of secondary education.

Core Functions
The programme is mandated to coordinate training programmes for capacity development of teachers both in Kenya and in other African countries.

Other related functions include:

  • Coordinating the development of training modules, teaching and  learning materials.
  • Coordinating the facilitation of National INSET and sensitization workshops for various education stakeholders
